The Waitlist Explained
How Our Waitlist Works (And Why We Have One)
At The Mod Lapidary, we prioritize mechanical integrity over mass production. To maintain the rigid quality standards required for precision lapidary work, we manufacture our upgrades in small, meticulous batches. This hands on approach allows us to inspect every single detail—ensuring threads are completely clear of stray filament, mounting holes are perfectly aligned, and hardware is filed down perfectly smooth.
To keep things completely fair, we operate on a strict, first-come, first-served waitlist.
The 3-Step Process
1. Secure Your Spot (No Deposit Required)
Fill out the brief form at the bottom of this page with your name, email, and the specific items you're excited about. This gets you into the queue as early as possible. Don't worry—you are under no obligation to purchase when your name comes up.
2. Small-Batch Production
When your spot in line arrives, we set to work manufacturing your chosen components. Once off the machines, your parts undergo a strict quality control inspection to ensure absolutely nothing is missing or less than perfect.
3. Your Turn to Order
The moment your upgrades clear quality control and are completely ready to ship, we will manually send a custom invoice straight to your inbox. To keep the line moving fairly for everyone, you'll have 48 hours to complete your purchase.
Behind the Build: Precision Takes Time
Our upgrades are engineered to withstand the demanding, wet environments of gemstone cutting.
-
Industrial-Grade PETG: We design and print all structural components using premium PETG filament. Chosen specifically for its exceptional impact strength and chemical resistance, it ensures your mod upgrades will never warp, swell, or degrade around water and lapping slurries.
-
Heavy-Duty Metal Hardware: To achieve precise engineering tolerances, we never 3D print moving mechanical interfaces. Instead, every piece is hand-assembled using high-quality, heavy-duty metal hardware to guarantee smooth, slop-free adjustments.
-
Ultra-Slow, Precise Printing: To maximize layer adhesion and dimensional accuracy, we print at slow, conservative speeds. Individual components take several hours on our machines—with some of our core upgrades requiring over 7 hours of print time for a single part.
Because we absolutely refuse to rush a process that would compromise quality, our chronological waitlist ensures that when your order arrives, it is a precision tool built to last.
